Slashed Seat Affair are one of the best Indie Pop Punk/Rock bands in the UK. A press copy of their album was sent to me a while back and I was hooked. The tunes were catchy and the vocal delivery spot on so there was only one thing to do and that was feature the band in Street Voice. A few questions were sent off and here's what they had to say for themselves.

Street Voice: First off can you introduce the band to our readers please?

Iona Leigh came into my life when her PR company sent me her new album 'Besides The Wave Of Time' which I was immediately hooked to on the first listen. The pleasure of hearing the coll Celtic influence Folk tunes was enough but what really topped it for me was Iona Leigh's voice which was just incredibly beautiful. I knew then I wanted to feature Iona in Street Voive and with the help of Joe from Quite Great an interview was sorted. Here is what Iona Leigh has to say for herself.

This ten track album has hardly been out my player and when you hear this baby you'll know why I love it so much. 'Unfazed' opens up with my favourite song of the album 'I Wont Know' which is a great catchy pop song and from then on there's other great songs such as 'American Idle', 'A Thousand Miles', the title track 'Unfazed' ...

Ok, they rung my partner (who is heavily pregnant) up to ask for payment. She told them she wanted to pay it early, because otherwise it would make her overdrawn. The woman said that this isn't possible, and if my partner didn't pay when she asked, she would be prosecuted (we've only had one letter.)

So my partner started getting real upset, and put the phone down. She phoned back. Put phone down again, she rang back. Phone down, and she rang for ten ...

The Flatliners a Toronto based punk band really do need to be heard. Their high energy punk rock sound is the nuts and musicians like Joe Strummer would be proud of these guys. Since they got involved with Fat Wreck I had to check them out and what I heard I loved so there was only one thing to do and that was to interview them. Here's what Chris had to say on behalf of the band.

First on were legendary rock band 'Stray' who've been at it for years under various line-ups and even had songs covered by the likes of Iron Maiden. Andy was telling ...

THE AMATEURS – Homesick EP: Hearing this three track piano-led pop EP I was pleasantly surprised with what I heard. Mathew Colley and co write songs aimed at a mainstream audience but with a difference – They write songs with a bit of integrity about them. The catchy tunes that are heard here seem to be missing from a large proportion of commercial music these days and that's sad. All three tracks are nifty little numbers though I must say 'London Sky' is my favourite number on here. The piano ...

After spending most of the day doing a deep spring clean it was time to head off into Margate for the fourth Gig 4 A Show. On arrival at the venue the bands started in drifting in and the Mad Professor started doing his magic with the sound.

Come 7.30pm it was looking a but quiet and then all of a sudden what seemed huge amounts of kids popping up and I was run ragged on the door.

I think it'd be a great way to raise awareness. Somewhere central so we can try and hook passersby in. It'd show the kind of thing that we're trying to provide and we'd no doubt gain some support from the general public.

Have it in the summer, and a load of us can walk around letting people know what we're trying to achieve and how. I think it'd be a really good way of getting support from the parents as well ...

I know Dman doesnt really like guitar hero and he will probably claim it is the anti christ and anyone who has been within 100 foot of guitar hero needs to be cleansed. On the other hand many musicians believe guitar hero is a good thing as it builds a sense of rhythm and can possibly inspire people to pick up an instrument.

I've had a flick through Harmony Central and was suprised to see the Behringer one getting a lot better reviews than the Boss pedal.

The main point being that in the summer with the Goes Solo band, it could be a massive boost to not have to nail my colours to the masts of electric or acoustic, and some stuff I think it could work to switch between the two sounds during songs.

I obviously don't need it for recording, I can do all that on separate guitars, ...
